Arita Ghedini is an emerging contemporary jeweller based in Hobart, Tasmania. Her educational background in the arts includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts, UTAS (Graphic Design & Photography) and a Diploma in Visual Arts (Jewellery). Her arts practice spans the creation of jewellery and objects for exhibition, limited edition production and commissions.
Inspired by nature and influenced by art history, Arita’s work is always petite, delicate, highly detailed and easily wearable. She is fascinated by the sentimentality, importance and defining nature of bodily adornment.
Memory and recount are strong focuses of Arita’s arts practice. As such each jewellery piece is purposefully created to invite the wearer to journey and recall a moment and draw a personal connection. Through her work she aims to create items of sentiment, markers of moments and objects of personal meaning.
Each jewellery piece created is crafted entirely by hand in solid, sustainable precious metals.
“I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to share my art with the world and work in a field that I am truly passionate about. Art provides me with much joy and fulfillment. I hope my creations similarly bring much happiness and enjoyment to you!” Arita Ghedini
