Memoryscapes Collection – Dendritic Agate

Dangerous Impressions Collection

This project was assisted through Arts Tasmania by the Minister for the Arts.
Creation of the Dangerous Impressions collection of works was made possible through the very generous support of Arts Tasmania and the Vita Brown Bequest Bursary which enabled the purchase of a Durston C110 Rolling Mill.
This piece of integral piece of studio equipment coupled with months of experimentation has enabled the development of a unique, non-traditional roller printing technique. This technique features throughout the Dangerous Impressions series of work.
The impetus for this collection has been my ongoing desire to raise awareness of micro plastics pollution and its impact on our oceans.
Each piece features beautifully textured tokens with surface impressions reminiscent of reflections on water.
These shimmering tokens, or snippets of the ocean, have been created by imprinting micro plastics into the metals surface!
An alarming irony.
Each jewellery piece in this collection is entirely handcrafted in solid Recycled Sterling Silver and features carefully sourced gemstones such as Australian Garnet and Freshwater Pearls.
